My collection coin pics
I am starting to add pictures of the coins from my collection. It may take a while.. but enjoy.
Geocaching, geocoins and the many roads of life.
This is made up of stories from my caching and my reviewing. It is a collection of those along with comments and thoughts. Photos, and maps of some adventures and lists of some of the oldest caches.
I am starting to add pictures of the coins from my collection. It may take a while.. but enjoy.
I decided to include a photo of the 2010 geocoins that I worked on. There were a lot of fun times dealing with them and working on them. All together there were eight different coins that were produced. Two in the photo are just to show the front.
On top of that there are two coins in the bottom left. I received a call from the coin manufacturer at coins and pins in November. Another group in South Carolina wanted to use the coin die from the front, and use a different back. So the two from the Indian Waters Council were using my die for the front and theirs for the back. I dont think they produced a lot of coins, but I was overjoyed when I received the two in the mail with a patch from their 2010 council camporee. Thanks guys. I did not know who to thank, so I will say that here.
Hopefully the 2011 coin will be just as well received, if we get it off the ground.
If you are interested four styles of coins are still available. Brass and Copper from the Blue Outer ring, green inner ring (in the middle row left) and the Brass and copper with the green outer ring and the blue inner ring (bottom row to the right). The council offices still have them for $10 so let them know your interest. Council services are (801) 437-6222. They were only taking credit/debit over the phone if I remember right. Tax was .70, I guess everyone pays it but I am not sure, and shipping was $1 at one time. So ask if you are interested.
I may take the time to list a few of my coins that I got in my next list. Sorry it took me so long to get back. It has been a busy Christmas and New year. Time to get back into the swing of things.
Final Mfg Qtys For those that are interested.

There was a variation with the same front die, yet the back is different. It was from South Carolina. I do not know how many of those were made.
I took the time to play in Excel, and I sorted out the favorite 60 caches in Utah. I was happy to see that at the moment I had 14 caches that had a favorite point. It cheered me up to think that someone liked my caches enough to list them as a favorites. Next spring will be two years and some will need an overhaul for the upcoming year.
The list does no have any multicaches, wherigos, webcams, or letterboxes. There were none in the top 60 that were listed, so though some have points.. they did not come up on my list. Next time I may go to the top 100. That should add a few more.
I will update this periodically and see what the changes are.
Oldest Active Geocaches Worldwide
I took the time today to udate my oldest active geocaches page.
After updating my site to new colors the old one was messed up. I also had a few people point out some errors, though apparently all of the caches are still active and going at this time.
Enjoy
I updated it again this morning... I had an error with #22/23 somehow they had gotten merged. It had the GC # of the one in Georgia, and the Link/Name of the one in Michagan.
I also sorted it back from oldest to newest rather than by location.
Thanks for the catch : Mat McGuire.
Thanks to Clubmud1 he pointed out one from California that was missing.
I also found a link that was bad, and two that were gone that were listed. so we are back to 108.
Here is a Happy Holidays from Groundspeak
